Kent SeaTech LLC was founded in 1972 by Jack Van Olst and Jim Carlberg, scientists who directed a major aquaculture research program at San Diego State University and several SDSU aquaculture projects located at Scripps Institution of Oceanography during 1970-1979. Mike Massingill, a highly regarded fish culturist, joined the company in 1980. Kent SeaTech scientists have provided aquaculture consulting services on more than 200 projects for clients in 40 different countries, involving over 100 different species of fish and shellfish. Today we are the leading supplier of the highest quality live fish for the extensive Asian supermarket and restaurant industries

We are known internationally for our work in the intensive culture of high value fish species, using pure artesian well water, and sophisticated tank culture methods to produce and sell the highest quality live fish available.
Extensive research also has been conducted for developing new techniques to eliminate the use of hormones or antibiotics to produce the most natural, healthiest fish possible. We also have developed low-cost technologies to reuse our discharged water to irrigate agricultural crops and thereby preserve scarce water resources.
